Czech couple's row results in police uncovering cannabis facility

February 11th, 2020

Police have uncovered a cannabis-growing facility thanks to the row of a couple in Trinec, police spokeswoman Karolina Belunkova said on Tuesday, adding that the police found the illegal facility while intervening in the couple's flat at the woman's request. The woman's 24-year-old partner faces up to 10 years in prison if found guilty. The woman turned to the police reporting that her partner had attacked her in their flat in a pre-fab block of apartments. "While inquiring into the attack's circumstances, the police noticed a cannabis-growing facility in the flat. It was arranged in a special tent with air-conditioning, power supply, irrigation devices and further equipment, and several cannabis plants were found there," Belunkova said. The man is suspected of illegal production and handling of narcotic and psychotropic substances and illegal growing of plants that contain a narcotic or psychotropic substance.
