Czech commerce sector wants govt to secure compensation for retailers

The Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism (SOCR) has called on the cabinet to propose compensation for retail stores closure now that the Constitutional Court (US) has declared it unconstitutional, SOCR President Tomas Prouza told CTK in reaction to the US verdict on Monday. Based on the US verdict, all stores should reopen in a few days, he said. Explaining its verdict, however, the US said it has cancelled the challenged government decision from January 28, but shops would not reopen immediately as a new similar decision closed shops and services in the meantime on February 14.
