Czech cocaine smuggler dies in Hong Kong prison

A Czech man, 68, who was convicted of cocaine smuggling has died in a Hong Kong prison, his relatives and the Czech Foreign Ministry have confirmed to public broadcaster Czech Radio (CRo). The two countries agreed on his extradition at the beginning of the year, but due to the coronavirus outbreak this did not happen. "We can confirm the death. This is fresh news. Our consulate general in Hong Kong is in contact with the family, dealing with further steps," Mariana Wernerova of the Foreign Ministry press department said.
