Czech army to buy air defence system from Israeli government

The Czech Defence Ministry wants to buy the SHORAD short range air defense system directly from the Israeli government for some ten billion crowns and will address it with this offer, Defence Minister Lubomir Metnar informed the government today and his spokesman Jan Pejsek told CTK. The ministry is interested in the SPYDER system from the Rafael firm. It would like to sign the respective contract at the beginning of next year.
