The Czech military ended its 20-year operation in Afghanistan with an event paying tribute to the fallen soldiers and with a parade at the National Memorial Vitkov that was attended by Prime Minister Andrej Babis and Senate chairman Milos Vystrcil on Friday. The parade included a flyover of Gripen fighters, CASA and Airbus A-319 planes, accompanied by transport and combat helicopters that produced smoke in the national colours of white, blue and red. About 11,500 Czech soldiers took part in the mission in Afghanistan from 2002, fourteen of whom were killed.
