CSSD congress postponed until April
November 13th, 2020
The Czech Social Democrats (junior government CSSD) postponed their election congress from next January to April 9-10 because of the novel coronavirus epidemic so that there is a chance for the delegates to meet in person, CSSD spokeswoman Eva Gregorova told CTK on Friday. The party leadership decided on the postponement of the 42nd congress in an online vote this week, she said, adding that 33 out of the 37 board members supported the move. Given the current epidemiological situation in the country, the party board has not been meeting personally for some time and it considered it impossible to organise the meeting of the delegates in January.
