Crime rate in Czechia goes down in 2020

The number of criminal prosecutions launched against individuals in 2020 decreased by roughly 30,000 in Czechia as compared to the previous year to 181,924, according to the annual report that the Supreme State Attorney Office (NSZ) released on its website. Criminal prosecution was launched against 67,844 people, including those to whom the suspicion was presented in shortened preliminary proceedings. State attorneys took the cases of 62,121 people to court, either they charged them, proposed punishment or proposed an agreement on crime and punishment.
