Covid spread picking up in Czech Republic

The Czech Republic registered 1,497 coronavirus cases on Wednesday, roughly 450 more than a week ago, and hospitals are caring for over 400 Covid patients, according to data released by the health ministry. The reproduction number R, showing the number of those infected by one positive person, rose to 1.26. The incidence rate or the number of new Covid cases per 100,000 people over the past seven days increased to 69.
