COVID epidemic on rise in Czechia, Tuesday sees 588 new cases

The COVID-19 epidemic continues accelerating in Czechia, with 588 new infections detected on Tuesday, the highest daily number since May 25, and the incidence rate, or the number of new cases per 100,000 population in past week, rising from 18 to 21 today, the Health Ministry's data show. The incidence rate was 13 still one week ago. The reproduction number R, which shows the average number of people who catch the virus from one infected person, is 1.48 today, up from Tuesday's 1.36.
