The number of COVID-19 cases crossed 16,000, totalling 16,093, and there were another 278 infected on Wednesday, which was the second highest daily increase since June in the Czech Republic, according to the Health Ministry's data released on Thursday morning. There were three more infections than on Tuesday and only one less than on Friday, when the peak was reached. In the past two weeks, the number of those suffering with COVID-19 has also been increasing. On Wednesday, there were 4,290 of them, the highest number since mid-April.
