Court rejects Volny's complaint over fine for brawl in parliament

February 14th, 2022

The Czech Constitutional Court (US) dismissed a complaint filed by former deputy Lubomir Volny, who contested the fine imposed on him by the lower house mandate and immunity committee for a brawl at the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, the court said on its website on Monday. The US found the complaint unsubstantiated. The fine corresponds to one monthly wage of a deputy, some 90,800 crowns. The lower house confirmed the fine recommended by its committee.
