Communists promoting quality Czech food in lower house

October 2nd, 2007

Domestic food products bearing the Klasa high-quality label could appear in the lower house cafeteria in the future, as proposed by the opposition Communists (KSCM) in an attempt to support Czech farmers and food producers, KSCM parliamentary group leader Pavel Kovacik said at a press conference on Tuesday. The junior coalition Greens (SZ) will support the proposal, SZ parliamentary group leader Katerina Jacques told CTK. "Czech food products are good. It is good to support Czech farmers," Jacques said. The Agriculture Ministry has awarded the Klasa label to 1400 high-quality food and agricultural products of Czech origin since 2003.
