The strength of the European Union lies in the unity of its member states, foreign ministry state secretary Ingrid Brockova said at the final evaluation conference on the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE). "The stronger the EU is internally, the stronger its foreign policy can be, and the better its place in the emerging new world order," she said. The state secretary stressed unity in the context of the armed conflict in Ukraine. "The war in Ukraine adds urgency to the need for internal unity, and it must be said that the EU is cohesive when it comes to Ukraine and is perceived as such externally. We've also found unequivocal consensus, for example, on sharing gas storage facilities in order to cover possible supply shortfalls from Russia," she added.
