Climate strike supported also by Slovak Academy of Sciences and Comenius University

September 13th, 2019

Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) joined the global climate strike and called on all students, teaching and research staff and the general public to participate in the protest gathering on Friday (September 20), TASR learnt from SAV spokeswoman Monika Hucakova on Friday. The climate strike organised by the Fridays for the Future initiative will take place in four locations in Slovakia - Bratislava, Kosice, Zilina and Banska Bystrica. 71 non-governmental organisations, including Greenpeace, the We Are Forest initiative, Amnesty International and the Let's Stop Corruption Foundation support the protest. It has also been backed by the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice, and the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Levice (Nitra region).
