Civic Coalition, Left don't want Macierewicz as senior Sejm speaker

Civic Coalition (KO) and Left MPs on Thursday appealed to President Andrzej Duda to withdraw the appointment of Antoni Macierewicz of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) as senior Sejm (lower house) speaker. President Duda appointed Macierewicz as senior Sejm speaker and KO's Barbara Borys-Damiecka as senior Senate speaker on Tuesday. KO's politicians charged Macierewicz "with having conducted a destructive staff policy at the Defence Ministry (when he headed the ministry - PAP) and building political capital on the Smolensk lie."
