Chamber passes new short-time work rules

The Chamber of Deputies today passed new kurzarbeit rules under which employees may be out of work for up to four working days a week for up to one year, the employer would pay them 80 percent of their wages for the time they could not do their job and the state would cover 80 percent of the sum. The state would cover the sum of up to 150 percent of the average salary in the country.
