Chamber of Deputies passes paramilitary armed groups ban

The Chamber of Deputies on Friday approved a bill banning the establishment and organising of paramilitary armed groupings that promote political or ideological goals. The Chamber rejected proposals that wanted to make the ban more moderate. Those who violate the ban, for example by being a member of such a group, face a fine of up to 200,000 crowns and a ban on handling weapons. The bill will now go before the Senate, the other house of the Czech parliament.
