Central bank head vows to fight inflation

Adam Glapinski, governor of the National Bank of Poland (NBP), has said the central bank will do everything to ensure a permanent decline in inflation. However, Poland's Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) will remain high throughout 2022, Glapinski admitted in an interview with the Super Express tabloid published on Thursday. "In the whole of 2022, inflation will remain above the upper band of the NBP's inflation target," the governor said. The central bank's policy inflation target is 2.5 percent plus/minus 1 percentage point.
