Census: Number of Czechs living in Slovakia decreases

January 25th, 2022

The number of Czechs living in Slovakia continues to decrease in the comparison between censuses, according to the results of the 2021 census published by the Statistics Office on Tuesday. While 44,620 people declared their membership of the Czech ethnic minority in the 2001 census and 30,367 people in the census held 10 years ago, their number in last year's census was 28,996, making up 0.53 percent of the Slovak population.
