A total of 2,640,000 people took part in the national census in its first two weeks, meaning that approximately 47 percent of Slovakia's population has been counted, census spokeswoman Jasmina Stauder said on Monday. As for individual regions, the highest number of people, namely more than 51 percent, has been counted in Bratislava region, followed by Zilina region (almost 50 percent), Trencin region (49.5 percent) and Trnava region (49 percent). The rest of the figures are as follows: Nitra region (47 percent), Presov region (45 percent), Banska Bystrica region (44 percent) and Kosice region (41 percent).
