Cardinal Tomko's funeral in Kosice to be held on Aug 16

The final farewell for the late Cardinal Jozef Tomko will be held in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican at 11am on Thursday, the Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS) has told TASR. Subsequently, the cardinal's remains will be transferred to Kosice, where his funeral will take place in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral on August 16. The funeral in Kosice will start at 11am. It was Tomko's wish to be buried in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral in the city. The service will be led by Czech Archbishop emeritus, Cardinal Dominik Duka.
