President Zuzana Caputova finds Prosecutor-General Maros Zilinka's recent trip to Russia to be "inappropriate", as he met a Russian official on the EU's sanctions list, the president's spokesman Martin Strizinec told TASR on Tuesday. "However, I'm even more concerned by the fact that the prosecutor-general didn't even subsequently understand why his trip was perceived as problematic," the president said, adding, at the same time, that she was not considering filing a disciplinary motion against Zilinka for the time being. Last week, Zilinka attended celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the Russian prosecution service in Moscow. Among other people, the Slovak prosecutor met his Russian counterpart Igor Krasnov, who features on the EU's sanctions list.
