Caputova promotes senior army officers

President Zuzana Caputova as commander-in-chief of the Slovak Armed Forces on Wednesday promoted Ivan Balog and Vladimir Lengvarsky to the rank of brigadier-general and Jozef Pokorny to lieutenant-general. Caputova at the same time expressed her expectation that the generals will continue to carry out their tasks responsibly and will demonstrate the professional courage to stand up for the interests of the armed forces, "even though it might not be socially pleasant or politically convenient".
