Caputova: Northern Orava area making progress in use of renewable resources

Continuing her tour of the Orava area in the Zilina region, President Zuzana Caputova on Tuesday visited the town of Oravska Polhora, which is located near Slovakia's border with Poland. The president noted during the visit that the northern part of the area has been making progress in terms of energy sustainability and the use of renewable resources, saying that this was the result of collaboration between local towns and villages. Several local towns are making use of heat pumps or burn biomass for heating, which allows them to reduce their costs. "It's a very ecological solution," the president said. "These towns can inspire other towns and cities across the country."
