President Zuzana Caputova perceives the resignation by Economy Minister Richard Sulik as a political gesture and hopes that it will contribute towards a faster resolution of the ongoing government crisis. Speaking after she accepted Sulik's resignation at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, Caputova thanked the SaS party leader for the work that he had done at the helm of the ministry. "I appreciate the great personal determination with which you strove to ensure that your government portfolio carried out its tasks in the extremely difficult conditions of the pandemic and to preserve the Slovak economy in the best shape possible," she told Sulik.
