Reacting to the death of European Parliament President David Sassoli, who died on Tuesday morning at the age of 65, Slovak President Zuzana Caputova said on Twitter that "Sassoli was a strong leader, a great Italian and a steadfast European", but above all "he was always trying to unify, not divide". Meanwhile, Prime Minister Eduard Heger tweeted that he was "deeply saddened by the death of a passionate European", adding that Sassoli's "friendliness and professional attitude will be greatly missed". Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok tweeted that Sassoli's passing was "a great loss for the European Parliament, Europe and the Union". "On behalf of the Slovak Government, I express deep condolences to his family, friends and colleagues," Korcok said.
