The Czech cabinet today approved a two-month suspension of value-added tax (VAT) on respirators of the FFP2 and higher category as of Wednesday, reacting to an appeal addressed to it by producers of respirators as an anti-COVID protective means, the Finance Ministry has told CTK. The producers recently called on the cabinet to either reduce or completely suspend the 21-percent VAT on respirators in a situation where the country's coronavirus infection risk index has been stagnating on the second highest degree out of five and hospitals face overburdening.
