The Volkswagen car plant in Bratislava has suspended production for two days due to a shortage of semiconductors and other parts, company spokeswoman Lucia Kovaric Makayova said on Tuesday. "The production schedule is being continuously adjusted depending on the availability of parts. This is due to the ongoing long-term global shortage of semiconductor chips caused by the coronavirus pandemic and a partial supply shortage of some parts due to the events in Ukraine," explained Kovaric Makayova, saying the suspension is expected to end on Tuesday.
