Bratislava police equipped with new tasers

The Bratislava police have said on Facebook that they've acquired new range tasers, adding that the devices can be used as a coercive means. They can stop any aggressor, i.e. not only perpetrators of crime, but also individuals who pose a danger to themselves and other people, or even mentally unstable individuals whose behaviour can't be predicted. One advantage is that police officers can use them from a safe distance, meaning that they can protect themselves as well as potential hostages, wrote the police, noting that the Police Corps Act stipulates that officers are obliged to be as careful as possible when apprehending suspects in order to minimise threats to their lives.
