Bratislava mayor to meet public transport staff to avert strike

Mayor of Bratislava Matus Vallo is due to meet representatives of city public transport drivers on Tuesday in order to avert a possible strike, said Bratislava city authority spokesman Peter Bubla on Monday. Two trade unions representing public transport drivers in Bratislava announced a strike alert as of May 1, while issuing a deadline for Bratislava Public Transport Company (DPB) to reach a deal on salary hikes by May 9, or they'd "consider announcing a strike".
