BIS confirms death of Middle East fighter linked to Czechia

The Security Information Service (BIS) Czech civilian counterintelligence confirmed last year's death of one of the fighters who had left the Czech Republic to join the terrorist organisations in Syria and Iraq, in its annual report for 2018 released today. In connection with terrorism, the BIS looked into the signals of the possible existence of Islamist radicals in the Czech Republic last year, but no particular risks were confirmed.
