September 15th, 2021
Drivers in Czechia will have to pass cyclists at a distance of 1.5 metres at least as of mid-2022, otherwise they might be fined up to 2,000 crowns, based on a new bill the Chamber of Deputies passed today with the Senate's proposals incorporated in it. The Senate, the upper house of parliament, pushed through a reduction of the maximum fine to one fifth of the sum originally approved by the Chamber, and a postponement of the law's validity by six months until next summer.
