The Hungarian authorities have prevented over 105,000 people from crossing the border illegally so far this year compared with 43,000 at this point in 2021, the prime minister's chief domestic security adviser said on Wednesday. "Attempts by migrants to enter the country forcefully in large groups, physical assault against patrol officers and migrants damaging the border fence have become everyday occurrences," Gyorgy Bakondi told public broadcaster M1.
