Babis to celebrate 1989 end of Communism in his own way

November 15th, 2019

Prime Minister Andrej Babis goes to the place where the end of the Communist regime is celebrated in Prague in the Narodni Street on November 17 every year, he told journalists today, avoiding the question of whether he will lay a flower on the commemorative plaque and light up a candle there. The plaque warns of the brutal suppression of a student rally against the Communist rule on November 17, 1989, which triggered its overthrow in the days to come.
