Babis: Nobody could have seen pandemic coming

Nobody could have seen the Covid-19 pandemic coming and all countries underestimated the situation, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis said on Monday in reaction to a report of the Supreme Audit Office (NKU) released today that pointed to chaos in state purchases of protective equipment. Besides chaos, huge differences in prices and quality accompanied the state purchases in the period following the outbreak of the pandemic last spring, the NKU report reads.
