Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis on Wednesday said he has instructed his ministers to prepare for the possibility of the Chamber of Deputies not extending the state of emergency over the Covid epidemic. Speaking to reporters before his departure for Serbia on Wednesday, he said he hoped that the opposition parties would forget politics and would think of the health-care system instead. He warned that without the state of emergency extension, the situation of the hospitals overcrowded with coronavirus patients cannot be solved. Last week, the minority government of Babis's ANO and the Social Democrats (CSSD) lost the support of the Communists (KSCM), who kept it afloat and so far always supported its request for extending the state of emergency in the Chamber of Deputies.
