The Czech government is ready to comply with most comments on the pandemic law raised by the opposition, Prime Minister Andrej Babis told journalists on Wednesday. There is still disagreement on the question of compensations, he said. Babis said the government could not compensate the lost profit due to the coronavirus measures as this would have an impact on the budget. The government discussed the draft pandemic law on Tuesday. It is to relegate some powers to the Health Ministry for which the state of emergency must be declared now. Opposition parties demanded that the legislation include some elements of parliamentary control, the necessity of comprehensive explanation of the measures and the question of compensations.
