Babis asks EU for financial aid to storm-hit South Moravia

Czech PM Andrej Babis asked the EU institutions' heads for aid to the South Moravia Region hit by disastrous storms and a tornado on Thursday night, during the summit in Brussels today, he has tweeted. The Czech Republic may gain aid from the EU solidarity fund designated for the cases of natural disasters. The storm with tennis-ball sized hails and a tornado, which hit mainly the Breclav and Hodonin localities in south Moravia last night, claimed at least five lives and more than 150 people have been treated in hospitals with injuries so far. The disaster caused an enormous material damage.
