Average monthly wage in Slovakia exceeds EUR 1,100 in 2020

Wages in Slovakia continued to grow both in the final quarter of 2020 and the whole of last year, with the average monthly salary exceeding 1,100 euros, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the average nominal salary maintained growth in 2020, although the pace slowed to 3.8 percent, taking the figure to 1,133 euros. The average nominal wage grew by 5.8 percent to 1,245 euros in Q4. Average wages exceeded the 1,000 euro threshold in all eight regions of Slovakia for the first time at the end of 2020.
