Autumn joint elections estimated to cost over EUR 18 m

The cost of the joint local and regional elections due to be held in Slovakia this autumn is estimated to be over 18 million euros, according to a proposal for the organisational and technical arrangements of the elections that has been submitted for inter-departmental review. An amount of 14.7 million euros should be covered from the Interior Ministry's budget, with 3.4 million euros coming from the Statistics Office's budget. The draft is yet to be approved by the government.
