The Health Ministry did not sufficiently monitor the expenditures of health institutes which vaccinate or provide laboratory services in 2017-2019 when the purchases of the institutes reached 1.3 billion crowns (EUR 50.2m) and had serious discrepancies, the Supreme Audit Office (NKU) said in a report on Monday. Seventy percent of the purchases that the NKU reviewed were not in accordance with the law on public procurement, and so the NKU reported this to the financial offices. The office reviewed purchases worth 239 million crowns and revealed discrepancies in purchases worth 168 million crowns.
