The Supreme Audit Office (NKU) has found shortcomings in the allocation of subsidies to regional and special schools in the Czech Republic as well as violations of rules, according to its audit of the Education Ministry's distribution of finances in 2016-2018. The ministry raised objections to most of the NKU critical formulations. The NKU checked projects for almost 260 million crowns. The audit results show that the ministry did not take the real needs in the regions into consideration in its support for regional schools, it sometimes did not allocate subsidies transparently and placed some recipients at a disadvantage.
