Article blocking adoption by same-sex couples in Czech Republic not cancelled

The Czech Constitutional Court (US) refused to cancel a part of the Civil Code that does not allow for child adoption by same-sex couples, it decided in a ruling available in the US online database. The given part of the Civil Code generally defines the rights and duties connected with marriage that also concern registered partnership of same-sex couples. Adoption is not among these rights. The Prague District 5 Court proposed to cancel this part of the code. The constitutional judges were not united in their opinion on the case.
