Agriculture ministry launches e-database of Slovak foodstuff, producers

The Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry is launching new measures to support Slovak food producers, said Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matecna (Slovak National Party/SNS) at the opening of Export Day at the Gastra & Kulinaria exhibition in Nitra on Thursday. Slovak Food Export, an electronic database of Slovak foodstuffs and their producers, is aimed at helping Slovak producers to establish trade contacts abroad. Matecna believes that supporting the export activities of food producers can reduce Slovakia's negative food trade balance, strengthen domestic production and increase food safety.
