Roma Holocaust memorial in Lety to cost over 100 million crowns

The memorial to the Roma and Sinti Holocaust to be built in Lety, South Bohemia, at the site of the former WWII Roma concentration camp will cost over 100 million crowns, Roma Culture Museum director Jana Horvathova told CTK today. The first part of the memorial, the visitors' centre, should be completed next spring, while the entire construction is to last several years, she added. There was a pig farm at the site from the communist era in the 1970s until the spring of 2018. The demolition of the farm premises symbolically started today and is to be finished at the end of this year.
