Miklos Soltesz, a state secretary for religious affairs of the Prime Minister's Office, discussed strengthening religious ties between Hungary and Israel at talks with Israel's Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi David Lau and Minister of Religious Services Yitzhak Vaknin in Jerusalem on Sunday. Speaking to MTI after the talks, Soltesz said he briefed his Israeli partners about Hungary's church law which ensures orthodox and other Jewish communities a status allowing them to operate as a religious organisation and carry out educational and social support activities.
