Poland to have Europe's third largest e-bus fleet by 2025 - report

October 11th, 2019

By 2025, Poland will have the third largest fleet of electric buses in Europe, after France and the UK, according to a report by the Polish Institute of Economics (PIE), which also said that in less than a decade more than half of Europe's buses will be electric. Cities face specific challenges when it comes to developing electric mobility, wrote the authors of the report, 'How to support electric mobility' issued on Thursday and prepared in cooperation with Polish fuel concern PKN Orlen and the National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE). It is in cities where public transport plays a huge role, being used by 90 percent of the Polish population, giving the country significant surface area to introduce the electrification of public transport.
