The salaries of MPs and other public officials should not be derived from the national average salary but from the minimum wage, MPs of the opposition far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) have proposed, adding that if this model were implemented, it would save 21 million euros per parliamentary term. MPs will discuss the matter of an amendment to the law on the salaries of public officials at the upcoming parliamentary session. "It's not fair to derive these salaries from the national average because only a few people earn it," LSNS head Marian Kotleba told a press conference.
