Why do Poles go to cafes? - poll

May 7th, 2012

Contrary to expectations, Poles do not go to cafes to drink coffee (21 percent of responses) but to meet friends (58 percent), a TNS OBOP survey showed. An average Pole visits a cafe 11 times a year, compared to 10 times just two years ago. An average bill is PLN 11.55. Fifty five percent of customers like local cafes. The percentage is high, but in the 2010 survey the figure was 62 percent. Cake shops grew less popular as currently they are the first choice for 23 percent of customers, compared to 25 percent two years ago.
