Whole ski lift stolen in Czech town

A whole ski lift has been stolen on a meadow in Desna in April, local police spokeswoman Ludmila Knopova said on Monday. The police are investigating this unusual crime. The perpetrator took steel supporting structures, three posts with a pulley and a one-kilometre-long wire rope. The total damage has been put at 200,000 crowns, Knopova said. Policemen are trying to find out whether the thief has sold on parts of the ski lift or whether he plans to operate the ski lift elsewhere.
